1 . So what do you consider to be the most valuable information you got from this class? So why do you think about this most valuable? I believe that the most important thing which i took out of this class is the fact that racism is still very much a major part of our contemporary society. Growing in rural Grand rapids I always new that there are racist persons, but My spouse and i never realized how the racism actually damaged our society and how firmly it affects such things as government funding for education and housing advancements. Racism and prejudice usually seemed second to me. I knew this country had issues with racism, but I never imagined that it influenced serious problems so greatly. Minorities from this country will be put by a greater downside then whites. Many minorities especially those which often not speak English as their primary language have to deal with limited housing, below funded school districts as well as the everyday have difficulty of elegance for their distinctions and beliefs. 2 . To what extent, in the event any, features your way of thinking about contest relations alter as a result of this class? Describe your answer.
I didn't say that the beliefs have changed due to this class, since I feel that I have always been open minded and cared for everyone with equal respect. I would nevertheless say that my thought process has changed slightly. My own thought process has become altered mainly because I always looked over racism as being a problem, but is not my problem. I was by no means directly linked to racism, and i also thought that there was nothing that we could perform to change the views more. After this category I have realized that if you are certainly not part of the remedy then you are ultimately area of the problem.
